David Alan Marshall passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the age of 69. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Emily; devoted cat, Maggie; sisters Lynn Marshall of Lacombe, Alberta, and Joanne Halpin of Saint John, New Brunswick; nephew Jeremy Marshall; niece Petra Marshall; "brothers," Hal, Drew, and Emory; and many cherished family members and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Joan and Lindsay Marshall.

Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, David graduated from Saint John High School before earning a Business degree from Saint Mary’s University. He began his career as a loan officer with CIBC, then transitioned into a financing role of sport utility vehicle dealerships on the East Coast of Canada. He discovered his true calling in automotive sales, where he thrived as a high performer. He eventually settled in Calgary, Alberta, and built a successful career serving customers at various dealerships until his retirement. When David first arrived in Calgary, he quickly formed many new and lasting friendships at the legendary Studio Café & Pub. A passionate sports enthusiast, he played hockey on various teams growing up and enjoyed playing football for Saint John High School. He remained a lifelong, die-hard fan of the Montreal Canadiens and a dedicated supporter of the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders.

A Celebration in honour of David’s life will be held at Courtyard Pub (723 Edmonton Trail, Calgary) on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 3:00-5:00 pm. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of David to the Calgary Humane Society (https://www.calgaryhumane.ca/).
