David Glen Cairns

Jan 17, 1963 — Aug 12, 2026

Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to David Glen Cairns, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and grandfather.

David was married to the love of his life, Wendy McCaffrey Cairns, who stood by his side through every chapter of their life together. Their love and devotion to one another were an inspiration to everyone who knew them.

David was a proud father to Adam Cairns, and Morgan Cairns and his wife, Meg, and recently became a grandfather to his first grandchild, Elias Cairns. The joy Elias brought into his life will forever remain a beautiful part of his story.

David will be deeply missed by his wife, Wendy; his children, Adam and Morgan (Meg); his grandson, Elias; his siblings, Wally (Corinne), Patrick (Wendy), Heather (Ian), Kelly (Lee), and Shannon (Troy); as well as his extended family and many friends.

David loved the outdoors, especially biking, and had a lifelong love of hockey. He embraced life fully, always pursuing the things that brought him joy and refusing to let others tell him when it was time to slow down.

In his final years, David developed a deep thirst for learning and gaining a greater understanding of gospel principles. He believed there was always more to learn.

David leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, adventures, hockey, biking, and love. He will be remembered for his strength, determination, love of family, and passion for life.

To a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and grandfather — you will be missed more than words can say.
