Dave McDougall

Dec 15, 1944 — Jun 24, 2026

Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Dave McDougall, who left us on June 24, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta, with family by his side. Born on December 15, 1944, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dave's life spanned more than eight decades, marked by integrity, quiet strength, and a steadfast presence that touched the lives of many.

Throughout his years, Dave witnessed a rapidly changing world and carried with him the values of his generation-hard work, loyalty, and kindness. His journey began in Winnipeg, where he was born and spent his formative years among the wide prairies and vibrant community of Winnipeg. Those early experiences shaped the calm determination and sense of place that Dave brought with him throughout his life. In 1966, he moved to Calgary. Dave married Maureen Kirkpatrick in 1967.

Dave McDougall’s legacy is one built not by fanfare, but by the quieter moments that matter most: steady acts of friendship, honest work as a welder, and gentle wisdom shared with those around him. Friends and acquaintances remember Dave as someone who listened earnestly, spoke thoughtfully, and supported others in both good times and bad. He took pride in coaching his daughters in Girls Softball for over ten years. One of Dave's passions was camping at Westward Ho.

As we acknowledge Dave's passing in Calgary, we reflect on a life well-lived and honor the memory of a man who valued connection and made a lasting difference in subtle but significant ways. Though he is no longer with us, the imprint he leaves behind lives on in the stories shared and the values he embodied.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maureen McDougall; daughters, Kimberley McDougall-Arden and her husband Doug Arden of Lethbridge, Alberta, Karrie McDougall of Calgary; five granddaughters, Courtney McDougall of Calgary, Colleen McDougall of Three Hills, Alberta, Randi Arden of Calgary, Lynzee McDougall of Edmonton, Alberta, Hailie McDougall of Calgary; and six great grandchildren.

Dave is predeceased by his two sons, Kevin McDougall and Kelly McDougall.

At this time, the family and close friends of Dave McDougall mourn his loss privately and celebrate his memory with gratitude for the years they shared.

May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
