Danny Herbert Hibbert

October 18, 1955 — February 7, 2024

Calgary

Danny Hibbert passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the age of 68 years.

He is survived by his son, Colby Hibbert of Calgary; his partner of three years, Melissa Vanhengstum of Airdrie; father, Glenn Hibbert; Colby's mother, Terry Millet of Rocky Mountain House; brother, Richard (Carol) of Mississauga; uncle, Alan Hibbert of Etobicoke; niece and nephew, Dianna and Richy Johnston of Mississauga. Danny is predeceased by his mother, Gloria Hibbert.

In his mid-life, Danny was a very robust and self-dependent man - a "lone wolf" searching for a serious purpose in life. Danny was a romantic who fell in love with Terry Millett and came upon her four children, who all came to be his family. Danny was a remarkably hard worker. He worked passionately with commercial warehousing and forklift operations. He went on to have a beautiful son, Colby (1999). Danny brought up Colby as an only child, and though wiser than most fathers, he remained adamant about his purpose. Danny was active with his son and showed him all of his passions of collections, nature, animals, and love for comedy. Danny was quite the jokester, always unannounced. He could make anybody laugh with his unique punch lines and phrases. He later moved to Calgary (2011) and started anew, being a wiser father with an only child. He took care in his actions. At this time, his son was growing, and so stood he. His passions, values, and ethics were all there. He never grew too tired. The family that embraced him grew as well, not wavering to stay in touch. They all adored him like a father. He created a multitude of friends and participated in many gatherings. Danny was understood in his gathering as a party animal, just like in his adolescence, but never wandering too far from his young adult son. Danny went on to meet his final romance, Melissa. Knowing he was unwell, he made it understood she wasn't his first but would be his last. Danny went on to show her his passions. He treated her and his son with immense care and tenderness until he met the end of his saga. Danny suffered from a multitude of sicknesses since his mid-life and progressively accumulated more. He was diagnosed with liver cancer around 2015-2016, which had a tremendous impact on his body. May he rest in peace and never be forgotten.
