With sadness we announce the passing of Danilo Recto Valdez of Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at the age of 86.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Helen Grau Love of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Marilyn Valdez of Baguio City, Philippines, Foster Valdez of Baguio City, Philippines, Virginia Berato of Baguio City, Philippines; grandchildren, Jonah and Bob Bouwense of Biggerkerke, Netherlands, Bren Lee and Kim Malona of Baguio City, Philippines, Shammah and Jeff Flaman, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Judah and Kristel Balisong of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Wendy and Gerzon Vizcara of Baguio City, Philippines, Xander and Claire Valdez of Baguio City, Philippines; Ezra and Regis of Baguio City, Philippines; Elshadai and Rose Phnom Penh Cambodia, Stephanie and Hanna Amor of Baguio City, Philippines, Jason and Joana Valdez of Baguio City, Philippines, Shekinah and Munir Momo of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; 26 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mauricio and Felicidad Valdez of Manila, Philippians, Edilbato and Justina Valdez of Davao City, Philippines, Arsemio and Josephine Valdez of Manila, Philippines; In-laws, Alberta and Jun Abnon of Calgary, Alberta, Delia and Edgardo Rodriguez of Calgary, Alberta. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Pierson's Funeral Service - Forest Lawn Chapel on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

He will be forever missed by family and friends.
