Danielle Cher Righthand

Danielle Cher Righthand, born on April 15, 1991, in Scarborough, Ontario, and raised in Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, in Bassano, Alberta at the age of 34 years. Danielle will forever be remembered as the princess of her family, a woman who carried herself with grace and elegance, always dressed to impress and with a radiant smile that could light up any room.

She was a passionate lover of the outdoors, and found great joy in fishing and spending time amidst nature’s beauty. She cherished moments spent with her nieces and nephews, embracing them with warmth and affection. Cooking was one of her greatest pleasures, and she delighted in preparing meals to nourish and bring together her family and friends. If you were hungry, she was there to fill your belly with something delicious. 

Danielle’s life was a tapestry woven with love, warmth, and a charming spirit that endeared her to those around her. Her presence enriched the lives of many, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

She is lovingly survived by her mother, Shirley Righthand; her father, Daniel Matchett; and her siblings Shayne Righthand, Dylan Righthand, John Righthand, Brandy Righthand (and her spouse Josh Fiddler), Dana Righthand (and her spouse Tico McNab), and Graziella Nahas. Danielle’s adoration for her nieces and nephews was profound, including Valencia and Violent McNab, Kingston and Lukas Righthand, Kyla Grant-Righthand, Anastasia Poucette, Serenity, Sophie, and Isabella Fiddler. She is also survived by her extended family: aunt Lisa Simeon (and her spouse Kyle) and their five children, aunt Yvonne (and her spouse Luis), uncle Matthew Righthand, and aunts Dawn Matchett, Darlene Goodwin, Nicole Calfchild, and Samantha Calfchild.

A Visitation in Danielle’s honor will be held at Pierson's Funeral Services (4121 17 Ave SE, Calgary)  on March 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will follow on March 31, 2026, at the same location, beginning at 1:00 p.m., concluding at 2:00 p.m.

Danielle Cher Righthand’s legacy of love, kindness, and shining spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. Her life, though tragically short, was filled with meaningful connections and cherished memories that will endure through her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
