Dallen Beaver

May 28, 1947 — July 11, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce of the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, and brother-in-law. Dallen Beaver has gone home for his journey back to our Great Creator on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the age of 74 years. Dad, “Totohn” was born in Nordegg, AB on May 28, 1947.

Dallen lived a tremendous life. He had an great sense of humour, he was kind, humble, gentle, compassionate, respected and giving. Totohn always greeted people with a big smile on his face and always shook peoples hands with respect. He loved to make jokes to his family, sisters and friends. Who doesn’t have the time to laugh? Totohn loved his daughter Mevalena (Tyssa) for all his life and of course his family that will miss him dearly.

Dallen had a passion for sports, especially hockey and rodeo. He played for the Tomahawk Hockey team for the 1960’s-1970’s and then became a team coach for the Foothills Wranglers. Dallen worked for the RCMP in the late 60’s and early 70’s, and the Stoney Nakoda Tribal Police in the late 70’s – early 80’s. Later in life Dallen fell in love with horsemanship. He became a rodeo stock contractor and founded Beaver Rodeo. He and his sons traveled to compete in rodeos with his horses. He co-founded the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association. Dallen also made it to the FCA Rodeo finals in the 1990’s. Dallen also joined Stampede Wrestling with the late Stu Hart and his sons in the 1970’s. He also was a bus driver for 53 years for Cardinal Coach Lines, Southland, and Nakoda Bus Lines.

Dallen is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Mary Jane Beaver; children Floyd (Michelle), Wyatt, Jarrett, Myers (Pamela), Nadine, and Tyssa; grandchildren Jarrelene, Colleen, Chad, and Tristen;  brothers Nigel, Cameron, Coleman, Lenny, Harlen, Greaves, Ron Potts, and Jeff (Evelyn); sisters Shirley, Alice, Thelma, Tracy (Mike), Nancy, Verna (Tyrone), Krista and Lorraine Hunter; nephews; nieces; auntie Mary Jane Crane; uncles; and the families from Maskwacis, Bighorn, Eden Valley and Alexis.
