Dale Olav Pedersen

August 19, 1948 — November 27, 2013

Dale, beloved husband of Diane Pedersen passed away peacefully at Peter Lougheed hospital on November 27, 2013 at the age of 65 years. Dale fought a valiant battle with cancer with courage and humor. Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years Diane; his daughter Tracy (Rick); his son Steven (Sara); and his grand-daughter Coral (Ben). He is survived by his siblings Larry (Brenda), Wayne (Lynn), Blair; Randy (Leanne), and Dawna (Curt), as well as his niece Shayleen, and nephews Chris and Jeremy. Dale was predeceased by his parents Marie and Olaf Pedersen; and his grandparents Ingabor and Mandrup Pedersen, and Gertrude and Alexander Miller. Dale was born in Calgary where he met the love of his life Diane in 1965 at James Fowler High School and on September 14, 1968 the high school sweethearts married. Dale was an avid camper and fisherman and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He had a love for country music, gardening, playing darts and most of all spending time with his family. Dale loved sports, especially following his favorite teams, the Calgary Flames and the Calgary Stampeders. Dale showed a keen interest and was very involved in all sports teams his grand-daughter Coral was part of throughout her years in junior and senior high school. A celebration of Dale’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 17 Avenue S.E.) Dale will be sorely missed by all those that he held near and dear to his heart.
