Claudia Mazalin

Claudia Mazalin, beloved mother, cherished sister, and dear friend, passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on June 28, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on May 12, 1954, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Claudia's life was a testament to resilience, love, and generosity.

Claudia's journey began in Slovenia, where she spent her formative years with her Grandmother and surrounded by family and friends. She then moved to Canada at the age of 13 to be re-united with her mother and sisters. She pursued a fulfilling career as a postal clerk, bringing dedication and joy to her work. Claudia's love for travel led her to discover the beauty of the Okanagan Valley, where she found peace and solace amidst its landscapes.

In Calgary, Claudia's warmth and compassionate spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a loving mother to her daughters, Melody and Candice, and a pillar of strength and support to her sisters Josie, Maggie, Kathy, Carmela, and Maria. Her home was always open to family and friends, where her hospitality created cherished memories for all.

Claudia Mazalin will be remembered for her infectious smile, her unwavering kindness, and her ability to find joy in life's simplest pleasures. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Claudia is survived by her daughters, Melody (Kevin) and Candice (Dwayne); her sisters, Josie, Maggie, Kathy, Carmela, and Maria; extended family members in Canada and Slovenia, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her dearly. Although she has left this world, Claudia's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence.

Per her wishes there will be no memorial service. Claudia's ashes will be placed in Skaha Lake, Penticton, a place she held dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

Claudia Mazalin's life was a testament to love, compassion, and service to others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
