Christopher Henry Griffiths

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Christopher Griffiths on Sunday, July 30, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 41.
Christopher was born in Calgary, Alberta. He graduated with honours from William Aberhart High School and was a member of the school’s championship title winning football team. He then went on to attend the University of Alberta as a science major. For over a decade Christopher worked in the Finance industry in various roles. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing a Business Administration degree in accounting at SAIT.
Christopher’s high level of academic achievement was recognized throughout his school years, with scholarships and award acknowledgements, such as the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship, consistent appearances on the President’s Honour Roll List, and membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society. Christopher was an avid sports fan and liked to debate all aspects of sports and society. He enjoyed basketball, football, boxing, and track and field. He collected sports memorabilia, including autographed collectibles from his favourite athletes and teams. He enjoyed watching Marvel superhero movies, reading science magazines, attending cultural events, cooking, and spending time with close friends and relatives. Christopher had a generous nature and a great sense of humour. He was outgoing, thoughtful and loyal. He loved to make his friends and family laugh and supported them when they were down. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Christopher is survived by his loving mother, Mernel Hamilton; father, Henry Griffiths; beloved niece, Shanice; siblings, Cassandra, Glenval, Yvonne, Evrol (Demoura), Kelisha, Adrian, Nathan, Nanice, Naresha, and many other caring relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Janice.
Visitation will be held at Showers of Blessings Apostolic Church (3915 34 St NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 6Z8) on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
The Funeral Services will follow the Visitation at 10:00 am.
