Christina Michelle Rye

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, Christina Rye of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the age of 42 years.

Christina was born in Victoria, British Columbia on Friday, April 22, 1983. She lived in Victoria, Grande Prairie, Christina Lake and Calgary, spending her earlier summers at Horne Lake.

Christina completed her high school education at Ernest Manning High School in Calgary. She then went onto getting her license as an aesthetician, a vocation she was passionate about. Her love for aesthetics was perhaps most evident in the care she took with her own nails, always ensuring they were a reflection of her creativity and pride. Christina loved her nails and took the utmost pride in them.

Christina loved spending time with her beautiful daughter Morgan, her mom, sisters, dad, nephews and her besties Bizz and Lyam. She enjoyed camping with friends and her dogs. Christina enjoyed the outdoors hiking. Her unique sense of style, prominently featuring her favorite colors-pink, black, and everything camouflage-reflected her vibrant personality. Christina was also known for her quirky collection of rubber ducks. Where ever Christina went she would light up the room with her bright beautiful smile and eyes that sparkle, everyone was drawn to her personality.

Christina is survived by her daughter Morgan McBride of Calgary; parents Tracey and Patrick Rye; maternal grandmother Dorthea Lambert; paternal grandfather Michael Rye; siblings Lynnea Rye of Airdrie, Alberta, Breanne Resch of Airdrie, Paige Resch of Calgary, Vickii Walsh of Airdrie, nephews Matthew Rye - Del Rio of Calgary, Owen Macaulay of Calgary; best friend Bizz (Elizabeth) Weisbrod of Calgary; and the Rye and Lambert extended family.

Christina was predeceased by her nan Donna Rye, husband Tim McBride, and her daughter Sophie McBride.

There will be a time of visitation for Christina from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Pierson's Funeral Service, 4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta. Cremation will take place at the Foothills Crematorium.
