On Monday, May 5, 2025 Mr. Cecil Fredrick Taylor, beloved husband of Marie Teresa Taylor of Calgary, Alberta passed away suddenly at the age of 73 years.
Born on August 16, 1951, in Calgary, Alberta, Cecil was a proud Calgarian who dedicated his life to his family. He met Marie Teresa Taylor in 1977 while working at Gienow Windows, and their immediate connection led to a joyful marriage later that same year. The family grew to include a beloved daughter, Rachel, and grandson, Bryan, who brought immense pride and joy to Cecil’s heart.
Cecil devoted 38 years of his career to the City of Calgary as a truck driver, where he was a respected member of CUPE 37. Cecil's true passion remained with his family. He could often be found enjoying quality time with them, sharing laughter, and creating memories that they will forever hold dear. Cecil was friendly, funny and loved to make everyone laugh. He loved watching hockey and was passionate about spending time with his family. Cecil leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Besides his loving wife of 46 years, Teresa, Cecil is survived by his daughter Rachel Taylor of Calgary; grandson Bryan Taylor of Calgary; siblings Darlene and her husband Ray Whalen of Kitchener, Ontario, Ronnie Taylor and his wife Diane of Calgary; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Cecil was predeceased by his parents Rhoda and Herbert George Taylor; brother Ken Taylor; and sister and brother-in-law Shirley and her husband Tom McGregor.
A celebration of Cecil's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to come together in remembrance of a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on their lives.
