Carolyn Marie Dack

On Friday, September 15, 2023 Mrs. Carolyn Marie Dack, beloved wife of Keith Dack of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the age of 61 years.
Carolyn was born in Edmonton, Alberta, but she loved her family’s time on the farm in Leduc, Alberta, and in Whitehorse, Yukon. She was military police with the Canadian Armed Forces after high school graduation. She was with the Forces when she met the love of her life, Keith in 1981. Carolyn and Keith married in 1984 in Edmonton, and later lived in Westlock, Dawson Creek, Grand Prairie, Vancouver Island and finally Calgary. Carolyn obtained her Journalism diploma from Grant MacEwan College, and achieved a fulfilling and demanding career as a Publisher, Writer, Reporter and Editor. She produced Gardening in Alberta Magazine, worked at the Westlock Hub Newspaper, the Edmonton Journal and the Nanaimo Daily Free Press. Carolyn loved to be busy and worked for the RCMP in Nanaimo, British Columbia and Grand Prairie, Alberta. In 2002, Carolyn stepped back from journalism to work as a non-presiding Justice with the Province of Alberta Courts Services.
Carolyn was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan, getting Keith hooked on baseball as well. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing and shooting. Carolyn was a talented artist and illustrator.
Over the past 17 years, Carolyn has triumphed over numerous health challenges which became more debilitating in the last year. She was always happy and bubbly regardless of her failing health. A generous and loving person to a fault to all who knew her.
There are special people in our lives who never leave us, even after they are gone…
Besides, her loving husband of 39 years, Keith, Carolyn also leaves to mourn her loss, her mother Carol Morley, brother Garnett (Loretta), as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and thirteen nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Robert, and brother Chauncey. She was truly a loving wife, daughter, sister and aunt.

A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held at Carolyn and Keith’s Residence on September 30, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If further information is required contact Keith of Pierson’s Funeral Service Ltd. (403-235-3602). Cremation has taken place at the Foothills Crematorium.
If relatives and friends so desire, memorials in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the Alberta Kidney Foundation, Alberta Diabetes Foundation or a charity of your choice.
