Carol Louise Oxelgren

Carol Louise Oxelgren, born Carol Louise Dinsmore on January 18, 1945, in Regina, SK, passed away on February 21, 2024, at Dulcina Hospice in Calgary.

She is survived by her children, Tammy (Alan) Faas and Doug Oxelgren (Nadine Slater); grandsons, Aidan and Ethan Faas; brother, Garry (Bev) Dinsmore; and sister-in-law, Jean Dinsmore; along with extended family and friends. Carol is predeceased by her husband, Calvin; parents, Fred and Lila Dinsmore; and brothers, Dale & Wayne Dinsmore.

Before settling in Calgary, Carol and Calvin lived in the Yukon and Regina. Carol spent a large part of her career in municipal government, howeverCarol's entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish a successful home cleaning business. Her dedication and hard work were evident throughout her careers.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Carol found joy and fulfillment in various interests and hobbies. She adored her family, appreciating quality time spent at family dinners and get-togethers. In her younger years, she and Calvin cherished moments spent camping in Kananaskis and polka dancing. Later on, when her health limited her activities, she enjoyed watching television especially crime dramas. She had a soft spot for animals. In that spirit, donations may be made to the Yamnuska Wolf Dog Sanctuary or any animal shelter of your choice.

During this time of loss, let us remember Carol for the vibrant spirit she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy of hard work, love for family, and passion for life will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
