Carissa Wendy Morgan

January 4, 1986 — February 13, 2022

On Sunday, February 13, 2022 Carissa Wendy Morgan, beloved spouse of Steven Sinclair of Calgary, Alberta passed away at the age of 36 years.

Carissa was born in Richmond, British Columbia. After spending her first month at the Vancouver Children’s Hospital, Carissa came home to Alberta. Despite her constant health battles, which she fought bravely, Carissa always let her light and kindness shine through to everyone she loved. Carissa loved her work as a residential / commercial painter, and was disheartened as her decline in health prevented her from carrying on. She strove to further her education, studied longer and harder than any other. Carissa was disappointed when her memory failed her, preventing her from continuing. She loved deeply. Carissa worked hard. She was compassionate and forgiving. Carissa enjoyed hiking and the outdoors. She loved her beautiful tattoos. Carissa was a beautiful writer. Her family were so proud of her sobriety and her perseverance. Above all else, Carissa’s heart belonged to animals of any kind. She adored her cat, Pondy, named for his bad breath, who helped her through the most challenging recent years. Carissa was remarkable, irreplaceable, and will be deeply missed.

Besides her loving spouse Steven, Carissa is survived by her mother Helen Belcastro (nee Morgan), father Giovanni Belcastro; maternal grandparents Wendy Morgan, Derek Morgan and his wife Pat; paternal grandparents Maria and Francesco Belcastro; siblings Jodie and her husband Lyle Poitras of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Maria Sluth of Medicine Hat, Melissa and her husband Danilo Schoenfeldt of Calgary, Francesco Belcastro of Edmonton, Alberta, Mario Belcastro of Edmonton, Amera Labelle of Toronto, Ontario, Shawn Labelle of Burlington, Ontario, Alexander Labelle of Dundas, Ontario; aunt Julie Morgan and her partner Jason Nedved of Lantzville, British Columbia; uncle Russell Morgan of Calgary; and cousin Sayda Kemna of Calgary.
