Brian was born December 6, 1967 in North Battleford, SK, the 4th child of 6, and raised in Calgary, AB. He suddenly passed away in the early hours of May 30, 2024 at the age of 56.
He was an animal lover, a sports fan, with the Calgary Flames, Toronto Blue Jays, and Saskatchewan Rough Riders being his favourites to watch. Brian had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need. He loved to spoil his numerous nieces and nephews, and they all loved to hang out in Uncle's room. He wasn't into big crowds, but when he would come out and talk, he shared great stories of every topic and could tell jokes like no one else. He left a Texas size hole in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
Brian is survived by his son, Darcy Koch, of Chestermere, AB;mother, Florence Sonnleitner and father, Leonard Sonnleitner; siblings Debbie (Randy) Landrie of Calgary, AB, Kevin (Sylvia) Sonnleitner of Calgary, AB, Kelvin Sonnleitner of Calgary, AB, Bruce Sonnleitner of Calgary, AB, and Deana Sonnleitner of Smoky Lake, AB; step-brothers and step-sister Gordon Hardwick, Steven Sonnleitner, and Sharon Waugh.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents William and Edith Pamdrun; paternal grandparents Karl and Magdalene Sonnlietner; and numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins.
