The family of Brett Prince announce his sudden passing on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the age of 65 years at the South Health Campus in Calgary, Alberta.
Brett was born September 9, 1958 in Calgary. He attended Lord Beaverbrook High School and after graduating Brett served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon returning home he went to work in the computer room at Home Oil in downtown Calgary. During that time Brett married his wife Cathy. In 1994, Brett and family moved to an acreage near Vulcan, Alberta. In 1999 Brett went to Olds College to obtain a Microsoft Technician Certificate. From there he went to work at United Farmers of Alberta on the help desk. In August of 2006 Brett suffered a heart attack and was forced to stop working. He enjoyed helping people with their computers and was very talented at finding solutions to computer problems. During COVID Brett served in his ward as the person responsible for manning the computer for Zoom access to the weekly sacrament meetings, continuing until the 16th of June this year when he got sick.
Brett is survived by his wife Cathy; and his 2 sons David and Ben (Michelle); and 3 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his baby sister Debbie and his parents Keith and Mona Prince.
A funeral service will be held for Brett in Champion, Alberta, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (203 4 Street, Champion, Alberta) on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Meet the Family will commence at 9:30 a.m. Brett's final resting place will be at Hillspring Cemetery. Cremation has taken place at Foothills Crematorium.
