Brenda Joy Guinn
January 8, 1953 — August 22, 2013
With tender hearts we announce the passing of Brenda Joy Guinn who at the age of 60 peacefully left the confines of her mortal body on August 22, 2013 at the Foothill Country Hospice in Okotokes, AB. The days before her passing were filled with many hugs and love from friends, family, children, and most of all her beloved husband David of 38 years.
Brenda was born in Medicine Hat, AB and was predeceased by her father Benny Fischer in 2000 and her mother Jean Fischer just 8 short days before her. Brenda temporarily leaves behind her husband and five children, Natasha (Chris) Zandbergen, Tara (Frank) Millington, Nathan (Nicole) Guinn, Amanda (Cesar) Lomboy, and Jennifer (Kelly) Schow. Her legacy consists of 17 grandchildren, Mikasa (Kevin), Chalisse (Robert), Kira, Kessia, Brooklyn, Jordan, Emery, Tanner, Morgan, Breanna, Rebecca, Michael, Daniel, Matthew, Mason, Logan, Katie and her 2 great grandsons Kelton and Camden. Brenda is survived by her older siblings Sharon (Jan) Allen and Ben (Vickie) Fischer.
Brenda was full of love, compassion, joy, and humility. Her passion in life was her family and home which she served and tended to, even during her debilitating illness. Brenda was a woman of incredible faith who’s fundamental beliefs touched many and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for our treasured Brenda over the years and especially the staff at the South Calgary Hemodialysis Unit. The family would like to suggest donations be made to the Foothills Country Hospice Society, Box 274, Okotoks, Alberta T1S 1A5 in lieu of flowers.
