Beverly Ann Janzen

January 17, 1951 — October 24, 2025

Calgary

Beverly Ann Janzen (nee Dyck) of Calgary, Alberta lost her battle with cancer at the age of 74. Bev was born to Henry and Judith Dyck at the Pincher Creek Hospital in January of 1951. After completing her schooling at Matthew Halton High in Pincher Creek, she moved to Calgary where she entered nursing school. However, Bev discovered that nursing wasn’t for her and moved onto working for RBC as a teller. During this time, she married her husband of 32 years, Jake Janzen, whom she started dating while still in high school. They went on to have 2 children and Bev stayed home with them until they were old enough for school. Bev then discovered Avon and spent many years as a successful Avon lady going door to door. After Avon she started working for the Calgary Board of Education where she discovered her true career and worked through many different positions there until she retired in 2007.

Bev is survived by her children, Cameron Janzen (Florence) and Lori Kalinowski (Les); and five grandchildren, Cassidy, Delaney, Zoey, Mitchell and Cody. She is also survived by her brothers, Nick (June), Gordon, Fred (Anne) and sister-in-law Petra.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, John and Henry.

A Memorial Service for Bev will be held on November 1, 2025 at 1:00pm at Grace Baptist Church (2670 Radcliffe Drive SE , Calgary) where Bev was a member for over 40 years. Livestream of the service may be accessed here : Grace Baptist Church Calgary
