Barbara Baker

Our precious Barbara Baker (nee George), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and aunt transitioned into eternal rest on September 18, 2026. Her departure has left us feeling sad and empty but we are grateful to God for the time He lent her to us.

Barbara was born in Point Fort, Trinidad to Job and Lorna George, and was the only girl in the family of brothers Lennox, Kent, Neville, and Errol.

She married the love of her life, Canute Baker in 1978. Barbara was a loving, kind, caring and considerate mother to Dexter and Gail, and grandmother to Shaquille, Tyshawn, Shemiah and Nylah.

She was predeceased by her husband, Canute, parents, Job and Lorna, brother, Kent, and grandson, Shaquille.

Left to mourn Barbara are her brothers Lennox (Angela), Neville (Monica), and Errol, children Dexter and Gail, and grandchildren Tyshawn, Shemiah and Nylah, friends, neighbours, and a host of church brethren.

A time of visitation will be held at the Apostolic Ark Pentecostal Church of Calgary, 4885 Hubalta Road SE, Calgary, Alberta from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Viewing will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Apostolic Ark Pentecostal Church, 4885 Hubalta Road SE, Calgary, Alberta.

Burial will be at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery, 243208 Garden Road NE, Calgary, Alberta immediately after the service.
