Avis Ashton Jenkin

JENKIN, Avis Ashton October 13, 1921 – July 22, 2013 Avis Jenkin passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at the age of 91 years. She leaves behind children, Karen, Janet (Steve), Gordon and Lorie (Mark); 28 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bud, son Nevin, and daughter Drinda. Avis moved to Calgary at the age of 14 to take a beauty course and worked as a beautician for many years. Avis and Bud, faithful members of the Mormon church, served a church mission in Tampa Bay, Florida. Avis loved spending time in the sun and water with her family and friends and enjoyed all kinds of entertainment. A Visitation will be held for Avis at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Crescent Road Chapel (202 Crescent Road NW, Calgary) on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
