Audrey Rees

It is with sadness that we announce Audrey Rees, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, AB on May 25, 2016. Audrey is survived by her children, Susan (Richard) Glenn, Elaine Boyce, Vic (Wendy) Rees, 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Audrey was predeceased by her parents George and Eva Raine; her brother Denis Raine; her sister Joan Brightman; and Desmond Rees. Mom was born in Lancaster, Lancashire, England, and immigrated to Canada with her husband and young family in 1952. She was a loving mother, grandmother; a shining example to us all and leaves us with wonderful memories. Mom was an avid reader, who also enjoyed sewing. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 20 years. She was involved extensively with genealogy research. Mom was a life long learner who in the prime of her life continued to study and took continuing education classes at the University of Calgary. When she wasn’t studying or conducting genealogy research she explored various parts of the world.
