Arturo Franco Canonaco

On Friday, May 9, 2025 Mr. Arturo Franco Canonaco of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, formerly of Crossfield, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years with family by his side.

Frank was a man who embraced the simple pleasures of life, and his passions defined not only his days but also the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was particularly fond of gardening, a pursuit that brought him immense joy and a sense of peace. Frank treasured the time spent in his garden, often accompanied by his grandson, where the two would share countless hours of laughter and learning together. The garden was not just a place for growing plants, but a sanctuary where memories were cultivated with care.

In addition to his love for gardening, Frank held a special place in his heart for winemaking. He cherished the annual ritual of crafting his homemade wine, an activity that allowed him to express his creativity and share his passion with family and friends. Each bottle was a testament to his dedication and joy, and sharing that wine was his way of bringing people together, filling their hearts with warmth and laughter.

Frank is survived by his children Carmela and her husband Adrian Molloy of Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, Guiseppe Canonaco and his wife Laura of Crossfield; his pride and joy, two grandchildren A.J. Molloy and his fiancé Kate of Crowsnest Pass, Dominic Canonaco of Crossfield; siblings Emma Gagliardi of Italy, Giovanna Pasqua of Ottawa, Ontario; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Frank was predeceased by his wife Caterina Canonaco (nee Ragonese); siblings Angelina, Florindo, Antonio; and parents Guiseppe Canonaco and Carmela Canonaco (nee Briglio).

Frank will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love and family will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.

For those who wish to pay their respects may do so between the hours of 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Pierson's Funeral Service, 4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary, Alberta.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 from Queen's Park Cemetery, 3217 - 4 Street NW, Calgary, Alberta.  All guests are to meet at cemetery gates by 2:00 p.m..
