Artina Josephina Oppenheim (Van Herwaarde )

Artina Oppenheim (Van Herwaarde), passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 92.

She will be lovingly remembered by her 5 children, Peggy Lemke, Grace (Hans) Michelbrink, Roy (Chris) Stoffels, John (Tammy) Stoffels, Jane Desiree (Cameron) Bunnage; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents Hubertus and Theresia Van Herwaarde, her 13 siblings, her granddaughter Tracey Lemke, her great-grandson Isaiah Cote-Stoffels, and her husband Franz Oppenheim.

Artina was born in Soekaboemi, Indonesia in 1933. She moved to The Netherlands in 1950 where she became a nanny for the Donders family. In 1968 she decided to immigrate to Canada with her children, and made their home in Calgary, Alberta.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all.

A funeral service will be held for Artina at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (940 Acadia Drive SE, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 12:00pm. A viewing will commence from 11:00 - 12:00pm prior to the funeral service.

A graveside service will follow at the Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery (243208 Garden Road NE, Calgary) at 2:00pm.

Friends and family are invited to join together for a time of remembrance at a luncheon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (940 Acadia Drive SE, Calgary, AB), at 3:00pm following the graveside ceremony.
