Antoinette Gallant

Antoinette Gallant passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the age of 76 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Yvon Gallant; son, Michael (Rhonda) Gallant of Chestermere, AB; grandchildren, Nicole (Viktor) Gallant of Chestermere, AB & Cameron (Mya) Gallant of Medicine Hat, AB; and grand-dog, Daisy; mother, Maria Said in Malta; siblings, Maria (Tony) Farrugia, John (Esther) Said, Jessica Vella and Frances (Joseph) Galea all of Gozo, Malta; former daughter-in-law, Trish Gallant; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Malta, Australia and Canada; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Said; and aunts, Golina Calleja and Tonina Calleja. 

Antoinette was born and raised in the city of Victoria on Gozo Island in Malta. At the age of 18, she visited Canada and made it her permanent home with her husband of 55 years, Yvon. Together they enjoyed traveling to Malta over the years, raising a beautiful family in Calgary and were hopeful of spending their retirement for half of the year in Gozo. She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her son and grandkids. She enjoyed watching her only son Michael and grandson Cameron play hockey over the years, as well as going out for food, shopping trips, having a tea, Christmas time, making new recipes at home with Yvon, phone calls with friends and visits with her granddaughter, Nicole. She loved FaceTime calls with her family back home and was very proud to be Maltese. She shared the culture and beauty of her country with her family and enjoyed trips back home to show where she grew up. She was a hard worker and the most selfless person anyone knew. Her beautiful smile and loving energy be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A Visitation will be held for Antoinette at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Livestream link
