Antero Inacio Teixeira
July 28, 1934 — January 7, 2021
Antero Teixeira passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Antero will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Rosaria; children, Brigitte Wenn and Herve Pontes; 7 grandchildren, Brittany (Raymond), Alesha (Bryce), Phillip, Alexander, Emily, Joshua and Jonah; nieces, Vera and Lourdes; nephew, Nelson and numerous extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his son, Dominique Pontes and brother and sister-in-law, Zacarias and Maria Teixeira.
Antero was greatly loved and admired by his family and community. He was young at heart, joyful, happy and had an infectious laugh. It would be challenging to find a photo of Antero in which he wasn’t smiling or laughing! He was kind, warm and easygoing. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. And they loved him.
Antero was musically talented and enjoyed dancing. He played the accordion for the Portuguese Folk Group of Calgary and the drums for the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra. He enjoyed volunteering and donating his time in support of the community.
Antero’s magnetic personality and kind spirit will be missed by so many.
A Funeral Service will be held for Antero on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00am. Due to gathering restrictions, a maximum of 20 people will be permitted. A livestream of Antero’s service can be accessed via the link below.
Graveside Service will be at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery at 12:30. Procession will leave the funeral home at approximately 12:00pm.
