Andy Edward Anderson

October 7, 1928 — December 7, 2013

ANDERSON, Alec Edward (“Andy”) October 7 1928 December 7 2013 “Andy and Fuffy” beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully, with calmness in his heart, on December 7, 2013, in his 85th year. Andy was a cherished story-teller, mentor and friend to his family and friends. A father to Tony, Peter (Johanne), Terry, and Russell (Lisa). He is predeceased by his wife, Ellen Joyce, his eldest son, Tony, and eldest brother Ron (Peggy). He is survived by his brother Clifford (Cliff), and sister Doris (Dolly), both of London, England. His love of music, food, and piano-playing at gatherings will always be remembered by those family and friends in England and Canada. Andy’s passion for perseverance, hard-work, and bouncing back vigorously has been and will continue to be a life-lesson to all of us. He will be remembered by his outstanding presence, his ability to accept the things that can’t be changed, his love of Go-Kart Racing, his love of Boxing, his passion and skill for wood-working, and a good home cooked meal or ‘feed-bag,’ always ending with an announcement that “I thoroughly enjoyed that!” Dad, Fuffy, we thoroughly enjoyed you and all the gifts you have given us. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Cottonwood Village (4224 – 8th Street West, Claresholm, Alberta) on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:30 PM. The family would like to thank the staff at the Claresholm General Hospital for their patience, support and comfort for Andy and his family. “He never looks for praises. He’s never one to boast. He just goes on quietly working. For those he loves the most. His dreams are seldom spoken. His wants are very few. And most of the time his worries will go unspoken too. He’s there, a firm foundation, through all our storms of life. A sturdy hand to hold onto in times of stress and strife. A true friend we can turn to, when times are good or bad. One of our greatest blessings, The man that we call Dad.” Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca. Arrangements are in care of PIERSON’S FUNERAL SERVICE. Telephone 403 235-3602.
