It is with profound sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of one of the most beautiful souls. Amanda Veno, of Calgary Alberta. On October 25, 1993, the world was gifted a truly remarkable little girl, one who would grow into an extraordinary woman with a heart so kind, so pure, and so full of love. Amanda was better known as "Juice" from a very young age, and loved to tell the story of how she got the nickname, given by her father.
Juice was one of those rare people who could leave a lasting impression on anyone she met, regardless of their age, stage or walk of life. She had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and cared for. Her kindness knew no boundaries, and her generosity often came without a second thought. She was the kind of person who would stop to check on a stranger who looked down on their luck, offer a helping hand without being asked, and quite literally would give her last if she thought they needed it more. Through her compassion, her laughter, and simply being herself, she brightened countless lives and helped more people than she could have ever realized.
She loved spooky season, the change in weather, the crisp Autumn air, taking in the all beautiful colors, and feeling that satisfying crunch of the leaves beneath her feet. Her absolute favorite thing was a good strong thunderstorm. While most people might run inside at the first rumble of thunder, Juice was the one getting excited, ready to enjoy the show. The louder the thunder, the harder the rain, and the brighter the lightning, the better. There was something about the wild beauty of a storm that made her feel completely at peace.
She loved to snuggle up and watch old movies and banter back and forth with her favorite movie quotes. She found happiness in the simplest pleasures, especially the ones that brought her closer to nature. She loved swimming, camping and connecting with the raw earth. She appreciated all of the small beauties in life and absolutely adored her 2 pups, Stassi and Tomas, who held an enormous piece of her heart. Those who knew Amanda knew just how much she adored them. She enjoyed being by herself often, but also valued spending time with her loved ones, laughing until we had tears in our eyes and reminiscing on the best of times. She treasured time spent with her family and found joy in watching all the little ones grow.
To us, we think Juice was taken far too soon, but God had other plans for her. She is now able to rest with her Mom, Eileen Veno, Dad, Rick Crean, and Nanny, Margery Crean. With her sudden passing on October 9th 2026, we are left with a void in our hearts that can never be filled. However, I am sure that each and every person that knew Juice has their very own memories to cherish and hold onto. There will be moments when we wish we could pick up the phone just to hear her voice, share a funny story, or tell her about something that reminded us of her. But if there is one thing we know, it is that Juice would never want to be remembered only through sadness. She would want us to laugh, to tell the funny stories, repeat the old jokes and to remember the silly moments that made her who she was. And perhaps, every now and then, to laugh so hard that we can almost hear her laughing right along with us. We hope that in time, the tears will be accompanied by more smiles, the heartache softened by cherished memories.
So, the next time the leaves crunch beneath your feet on a beautiful autumn afternoon, think of her. When the skies grow dark and a thunderstorm rolls in, take a moment to enjoy the show, because somewhere, somehow, we know Juice would be loving every second of it. And when you find yourself laughing uncontrollably with the people you love, remember that those were the moments she treasured most.
As we say our goodbyes to our beautiful Juice, let us remember her for her kind, and caring soul, her selflessness and gratitude, and the great impact she had on so many lives. May her spirit continue to guide us, reminding us to love and embrace life and show compassion and kindness to everyone, and most of all to cherish the time that we have with those we hold closest to us. May you rest in eternal peace, sweet Juice.
Until we meet again, may the thunder always roll a little louder for you, the autumn leaves always shine a little brighter, and the laughter never end.
You were loved beyond words, you will be missed beyond measure.
