It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother Alma Verrin who passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the age of 94 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Dennis Litke (Bev) and Donna Miller (Vince); grandchildren John, Cory, Heather (Mike), Debbie (Gord) and Cindy (Dan); several great grandchildren and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jim Verrin. Alma was born and raised in Scapa, AB. After getting married and having her two children she then moved to Calgary, which has been her home ever since. While in Calgary she met and married the love of her life Jim Verrin. Alma enjoyed dancing, cooking and painting. She was a very talented artist. Her greatest passion was her family. Alma’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Agape Hospice and Dr Mar from the Peter Lougheed Center for the kind and compassionate care shown to their mother and grandmother. A Funeral Service will be held for Alma at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Alma to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary (www.alzheimercalgary.ca/donate).
