Alana Billene Jackson Buffington
June 6, 1949 — May 30, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Alana Billene Jackson Buffington announce her peaceful passing after a long battle with Cancer on Monday, May 30, 2022 at the age of 72 at Agape Hospice in Calgary, AB. She had friends and family by her side who wish to thank Agape staff for their care and compassion. They kept her comfortable in her final days.
Alana was predeceased by her husband Lyle, who she was so lovingly looking forward to joining again; also by parents Audrae and Alonzo and siblings, Daisy, Brent and Charles (Bud).
Alana will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Ed (Sharon), James, Steven; several nieces and nephews, Rich, Bev, Cam, Sandy, Scot, Kim, Karen, Tracy, Lori, & Darren; close friends, Ray (Tammy), Eldredge (Christine), Lorraine, Judy; along with numerous other cousins, great-nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Alana developed a passion for history and was lovingly referred to as the “family historian”. She researched, collected, housed and meticulously archived history of her Jackson & Rasmussen family. She was committed to sharing that information with her relatives and it wasn’t uncommon to get an email from her in the wee hours of the morning when she found something exciting to share. Jennifer Parker, Alana’s great-niece, and Scot’s daughter has agreed to take on the commitment of continuing this history research and data collection. All historical information has been delivered to her for storage, further refinement and sharing with family and relatives.
Alana approached her life as a continual journey of learning how to organically live. She continually educated herself in natural healing and had many certificates from Reflexology, iridology, to how essential oils, herbs and other natural remedies could heal one’s body and mind.
Alana was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very committed to her faith until the moment she passed.
A Graveside Service will be held at Queens Park Cemetery, (3219-4

street N.W., Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. A Reception will follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (202 Crescent Rd. N.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 3:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in Alana’s name may be made to the “Humanitarian Fund” of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
