Allan Wayne Thew

May 17, 1962 — September 18, 2024

Calgary

It is in great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Allan “Al” Thew on September 18, 2024 at the age of 62 years.

Al is survived by his daughter Jessie (Eric); son Michael (Jade); beloved grandchildren Eric Jr. Noel and Brooklyn; his mother Valerie and siblings Phyllis (Garry) and Terry, nieces Adina (Darryl), Crystal (Corey), Megan and Tracy (Jessie’s mother). As well as many other family members and numerous upon numerous friends.

Al was predeceased by his brother Dwayne and father Stan.

Al started his journey in Ponoka, grew up in the Peace Country and then relocated with his family to Calgary, he lived in many parts of BC over the years and eventually moved back to Calgary. Al worked primarily in the construction industry, however he was his own connoisseur in the cannabis industry for many years and most would say that was his biggest passion. However, Al’s love for his friends and family was everlasting and his real passion, with his infectious laugh and toothless smile he was always there to say hello, to smoke a joint with, have a beer with and tell a story or two or three.

Al had so many friends, and one of his favourite pastimes was going to the Border Crossing and having a beer with all who loved him there. It is a great loss to all that knew Al and he will forever be missed.

Please come to celebrate his life on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Border Crossing (1814-36 Street SE) at 12:00pm - 4:00pm.

In true Al Thew spirit please wear something with a pot leaf on it to his celebration.

Donations will be greatly appreciated to help the family with his final expenses.
