Honouring Veterans & First Responders

We’re proud to do our part in honouring our Canada’s Veterans and First Responders who have served our community or fallen in the line of duty. Our responsibility is to provide you and your family with professional and dignified assistance during your time of need, and we promise to support you in honouring your loved one for their dedication and selfless service.

Traditional Honours

Each veteran can have a ceremony that is tailored to their level of involvement and the family’s level of comfort. Often, particular branches of these services have specific traditions for their members. Your funeral director will work with the organization to make sure these tributes are coordinated into the service for your loved one.

Honours may include:

  • Royal Canadian Legion Tribute, including Last Post and Reveille
  • Poppy Tribute
  • The Canadian Flag draped over the casket or present beside an urn
  • A funeral procession and escort
  • A final salute at the grave site

Benefits & Resources

Financial benefits vary according to particular military or civil organization to which the deceased belonged. Local Police, EMS and Firefighting organizations will have their own sources of information. Here are a few links that can answer some questions and provide guidance. Of course, your funeral director will also help you find the information that you require.
